Budget
conferees appointed
House
and Senate conferees have been named to try resolving
differences in the budget bills each chamber has adopted. The
House’s 31-member conference committee includes 23 Democrats
and eight Republicans. The four Appropriations co-chairs will
lead the House conferees. The Senate committee has 28 members,
all Democrats, apparently because none of the chamber’s 15
Republicans voted for the budget. The three Appropriations
co-chairs will lead the Senate conferees. Here are the House
